New Buffer Rule in MN Enacted

The new MN Buffers program calls for “perennial cover”.  It is not required to be native seed.
Our Waterway Mix will work very well.  There is no required lbs/acre.
Buffers can also be established in alfalfa or any other perennial cover including trees.
You can generate income from the buffer, which may include hay, native seed production, intermediate wheatgrass, elderberry, hazelnut, aronia berry, etc…..

Compliance with the program is Nov 1 of 2017.  Acres enrolling in CRP can get an exemption.
