Albert Lea Seed is committed to offering you the absolute best available organic seed corn. But sometimes the hybrid you need is simply not available as certified organic seed. In those cases, we offer a selection of non-GMO hybrids coated with RiseUp organic-compliant seed treatment. These hybrids have also been screened and selected for their ability to perform on organic farms.

Sweet Corn

Seeding:

Seed 10-15 lbs/acre or 1lb/1000’ (15,000-24,000 seeds/acre or 1,500-1,600 seeds/1000′). Plant 1 -1 1/2” deep. Row width: 30”-36”, seed spacing: 8”-12”. Min. soil temperature: 55-60°F (treated), 65-70°F (untreated).

Isolation: 

Isolate all su, se, and synergistic varieties from super sweets (sh2) Isolate by distance (garden: 25-75 ft, acreage: 250 ft) Isolate by time (plant at 12-14 day intervals).

Fertility:

Fertilize based off soil test results. A common recommendation is to side-dress 1/4 lb. of Urea per 100 foot row once plants reach 1 foot in height.

Harvest:

When kernels are milky plump, about 18-24 days after silks emerge. Heat accelerates development, so monitor closely in hot weather.

SoilBiotics^® Seed Start 200 is a humic acid seed treatment combined with a blend of living, breathing microorganisms. This humic acid improves cold germination and seedling emergence and vigor. The biological factor in Seed Start 200 has an all-around positive effect on the growth rate, immunity of the seedling to biotic and abiotic stress, the development of the root system and its microbiome, and therefore its ability to assimilate nutrients.

SABREX^TM ROOT INCOCULANT

SabrEx Root Inoculant is a proprietary blend of trichoderma and mycorrhizal fungi that aids in plant rooting, nutrient and water uptake.

SOILBIOTICS^® 1R

SoilBiotics^® 1R is a humic acid product derived from mined Leonardite. It is formulated to improve nutrient uptake, provide better root development, and reduce plant stress.

The combination of treatments cannot be ordered or specified in advance.
It is dependent on the location and timing of the seed cleaning and treatment process.
