• Annual plant that grows to a height of 24 to 36 inches
• Tap root may penetrate to 40 inches
• Requires 50-day vegetative period, 25-day flowering period and 35 days to mature
• Self-pollinating crop. Seed is produced in a boll of 4-8 seeds
• Avoid poorly drained soils, and soils subject to drought and erosion
• Seed 25-50 pounds per acre into firm, moist soil at a depth of ¾” to 1½
