Good nitrogen builder and can be grazed
Best adapted to sandy loam soils and dry conditions
High seed count/lb, so more affordable to plant than cowpeas
Early maturity, not as big of a plant as the cowpeas, better for shorter growing windows
More palatable to grazing animals compared to cowpeas
Requires inoculant for proper nodulation for nitrogen fixation

Seeding: Drill 15-20 lbs/acre at 1” to 2” deep. Increase seeding rate 50% if broadcast seeding.
